Summer is Almost Over

The month of August is almost over and it will be time for the yellow buses to be back on the road filled with happy children.

Within the next week or so my son will be departing for his senior year at college, hooray!  It will time to celebrate, I will have the house to myself again.  After about a couple of weeks I will miss his company and anticipate his return for Thanksgiving.  I’ve already warned him that I may use his “recording studio” for my sewing room.

Now, what will I make…….

Curtains are first on my list.

Off to Pinterest I go.

I just love the blog title Let’s eat Grandpa.  Cori has a very easy tutorial forDIY curtains.  I forgot Ikea sold fabric and something else to add to “the list”.  If you have an Ikea close by it’s worth a trip.  I have to limit my trips there because I get all caught up in wanting to buy everything.  I have some type of stand that I bought two years ago still in the box that I just had to have.  That print is a real eye catcher.  I saw a dress someone made using the same print and it reminded me of the scene from The Sound of Music when outfits for the kids were made from the drapes.

This pattern is not available online and it’s $4.99 a yard.  To bad they don’t take Joann’s coupons, lol.
